NO4.
This was the last piece I sculpted in this collection. I had been wanting to experiment with creating tiny shelves to hold a tea light or jewelry, and from that idea—combined with my love for mushrooms and fungi—this piece was born. The shelves were inspired by Reishi mushrooms, which naturally look like little fairy shelves on trees or forest floors. Every time I see one, I picture a small, shrunken version of myself perched up on one, sipping on some tea.
Reishi is known as the “mushroom of immortality,” and is often found in popular mushroom blends. Its immune-boosting properties, along with its anti-everything qualities (anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, etc.), make it a true cure-all. Reishi is life-changing magic.
I kept this piece primarily unglazed, except for the Reishi mushrooms and the veins on the side of the sculpture. This creates a beautiful, subtle contrast that brings the mushrooms and veins to life.
I also included Peridot, a small green crystal that emits a warm and friendly energy. It oozes compassion, allowing anger to dissipate and inspiring happiness instead. Peridot is a stone of healing, fostering openness and acceptance. I find it particularly helpful when I need a compassionate heart to help soften areas in my life that need an optimistic, warm approach to healing.
May this sculpture, with its two tiny shelves, hold your jewelry, crystals, or special memorabilia that touch your heart. On the left side of the piece, there is a small hole to hold incense.
This piece is grounding, earthy, and magical.
