NO6.
This piece was the first one I created in this series and really set the tone for everything that followed. I love how it has so many little pockets for treasures.
It features a vase for fresh or dried flowers, a space on the right to hold a card or photo, a tea-light holder in the center, and an area on the left to place your special treasures.
The vase has two wavy, open forms that flow outward from two tiny opal embellishments. Working on this piece felt so fluid, the clay moving between my hands so effortlessly. Everything magically fell into place with this sculpture.
The clay body is a deep, rich black-brown color, which, paired with a white glaze, turns into a creamy finish with speckles of the brown clay peeking through. The texture of this piece is truly special.
I hope this piece serves as a wonderful little companion on your altar space.
